Hi, Im mike.. a 50 year old guy on a journey from Fat to Fit. My goal is to not simply shave off some body fat, and look like a deflated version of the old me, but I am working on a transformation from a fat guy to a lean, muscular, healthy guy in spite of my age and former lifestyle.
My progress so far is promising. I have lost about 80lbs of fat and gained 20+ lbs of muscle in the 2 1/2 years since I have started. I work out typically 4 days a week for 60-75 minutes per day. My workouts are intense, but fun and I train with a great group of people and a fantastic trainer. My workout is not for everyone, and i do believe that the best workout is the one you actually do. Yes, there are some differences between different workout styles, and I am sure my opinions about various workout styles will become apparent over time. My point is that you might thrive with a few sessions of Zumba a week, but thats not my cup of tea and by the same token I wont blame you if you dont want to work out in a gym with no air conditioning in the deep south.
I hope to share tips that I have learned, some recipes I have created to make tasty food that is still quite healthy, and perhaps views on life as well.
